Yay internet!

vshnayderI figured I should post to let anyone who cares know that I'm back from my road trip and have internet access again. The trip was really awesome (short version: road trip to Banff, Alberta, Canada with Kate and Elinor, seeing lots of cool stuff and fun people there and along the way. Long version will appear at a later date [ask if you can't wait-it'll make me work on it sooner :-])
I spent this past weekend shopping and cleaning and putting together furniture and otherwise trying to make my apt livable. I at least got all the necessary furniture (like a bed)-still have to organize my stuff and bring all my books here from my office (which will happen over the next month or two-a bookbag full a day :)
I went to work today to find that my advisor is off in Ecuador putting sensors on a volcano. If things work out, I may get to go out there at some point, which would be really fun.
I've decided that I'm getting a new computer "any day now". It's going to be a mac, because that way I can get voice recognition software and unix and iPhoto/iMovie. And hopefully my advisor will buy me a mac laptop as well.
A friend (Josh) asked me to find some old pictures, so I did and was looking through them earlier; it reminded me how much I miss the band-I'll have to make sure to make it down for a weekend or two this fall.
