Yay internet!

I figured I should post to let anyone who cares know that I'm back from my road trip and have internet access again. The trip was really awesome (short version: road trip to Banff, Alberta, Canada with Kate and Elinor, seeing lots of cool stuff and fun people there and along the way. Long version will appear at a later date [ask if you can't wait-it'll make me work on it sooner :-])

I spent this past weekend shopping and cleaning and putting together furniture and otherwise trying to make my apt livable. I at least got all the necessary furniture (like a bed)-still have to organize my stuff and bring all my books here from my office (which will happen over the next month or two-a bookbag full a day :)

I went to work today to find that my advisor is off in Ecuador putting sensors on a volcano. If things work out, I may get to go out there at some point, which would be really fun.

I've decided that I'm getting a new computer "any day now". It's going to be a mac, because that way I can get voice recognition software and unix and iPhoto/iMovie. And hopefully my advisor will buy me a mac laptop as well.

A friend (Josh) asked me to find some old pictures, so I did and was looking through them earlier; it reminded me how much I miss the band-I'll have to make sure to make it down for a weekend or two this fall.

I can't wait! Work on it sooner! Like right now! Drop everything else you're doing and satisfy my whims! Um, well, actually I'd love to hear about the trip, but maybe I'm not quite so desperate and selfish. I'll be looking forward to the stories when you have a chance. :)
